Aileen and Jed at The George in Rye
Posted by: | CommentsStrangely no one ever called him Jedward. Come to think of it, neither did I? Probably a good thing then.
Oh the irony. Waiting all summer for some hot weather and we get the hottest day of the year. On OCTOBER 1st. A thought that I’m sure no amount of planning could have overcome. 3 piece suits? Sure! Why not? We’ll need the extra layers to keep warm. Survey said? XXXXXXX
Despite the ‘heat’…and let’s be honest, it was hardly heat..everything went exactly to plan. Good thing too as Aileen and Jed are planners. Some people really enjoy it and I got the impression they did. Jed was more than a little delighted to see Darren and I a full 50 minutes early.
The George in Rye is a kind of a hidden gem. From street level it looks like a nice gastro pub. You would be challenged to believe that there is a considerable number of rooms as well as the most fantastic ballroom which is perfect for ceremonies, receptions and evening entertainment. Rye itself is totally quaint. They should bus in loads of Americans at the weekend just to add to the ambiance. I, on my own, wasn’t really enough.
As usual, there will be a number of additional images to review on my Facebook Business Page. The link to these will appear at the end of this post. You wouldn’t want to miss my gentle musings would you? So scroll, enjoy and THEN click.
I’m not a mad detail junkie but this place kind of deserved it! More later.

Willis? What you talking ’bout?
Light to die for

It was, after all, the hottest day of the year
Dad gets a wee bit emotional

he treated it like popcorn

This image is actually from Darren…but I thought it needed to be shown as the two images (above and below) were taken at the same time
I’m thinking Jed thought he deserved more than a hug!
Not fond of the applause

With 70+ guests and a courtyard designed for about 30 I had to go inside for formals…I quite liked the result
Luckily no one was in at No. 1

Quaint

Melting
More we-tails

Nothing like an expressive Best Man

And now a few from Darren

Wedding Photographer Buxted Park – Milly and Ben
Posted by: | CommentsThis weekend, when out riding my toy horse, I found myself at Banbury Cross. There I met a lady with rings on her fingers and bells on her toes. She bragged she had music wherever she goes. I told her I had 64gb iPod and challenged her to a duel. But when we both agreed that Olly Murs sounds too much like Will Young we let it go and drank to Absinth friends.
Naturally this has little if nothing to do with Milly and Ben’s Sussex wedding at Buxted Park. A delightful venue for a delightful couple. So it is the fourth of the Guildford High (it was Guildford right…not Woking) girls. Ben and Tori, Rupes and Jenny, Charlotte and Martin and now Milly and Ben. You may remember these two from their engagement session last fall. No elevators or car parks this weekend (bummer).
As usual these days, you can see a few more photos on the Facebook Preview Gallery….

Don’t adjust your sets…the confetti came after dinner…and actually, what a great time to do it!

Buxted Park Weddings – Millie and Ben – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsFrom crazy lighting to shabby chic people the Just One has always been about something that struck me. Today is no different, but in a completely different way. Today is all about elegance, sophistication and a chance to be one of the wicked high-end watch company ad photographers. So here you go…the Just One.
Ben lurks in the background…he’s probably just looking for an opportunity to steal the watch
Buxted Park Wedding Photography – Chrissy and Arnon
Posted by: | CommentsI hated this wedding…
No seriously…hated it. I mean, great light, great couple, great guests, great weather, great location…how the hell does it get any better. I’ve seen utopia and damnit, I want it back!
Joking aside yesterday, yes…a Thursday, was just wonderful. Wedding photographers love weekday weddings…and even more so when you get [....] (see the long list of ‘greats’ above). As an added ‘bonus’ Chrissy and Arnon have asked if I could prepare a few more images to display at their Israeli wedding which takes place next weekend. As a result I picked out a bit more than usual and found it hard to cull back to the usual 30ish. I’ll also post a Facebook gallery to see more. I’m really excited about the images…there is SO much more to come as well!

It’s a little game I like to call ‘Ask Rafael’

This is a total cockup (is that a naughty word)? Meaning I’ve got a button near my ‘next’ button that sometimes I accidentally hit. It runs part of an action (Photoshop speak), executes the ‘next’ and then restarts somewhere in the middle. The net effect was this…and boy did I like it! Happy accident.

Chrissy, a loyal blog follower, challenged me to do something interesting with flat shoes. I reckon this will suffice.

“I gotta be me!”

Not a setup shot actually…
Oh yes…in literature we call this ‘foreshadowing’

Arnon was organising all day
Last minute dash to put some holly on the Chuppah…
..giving time for Chrissy to get a little anxious….
…but ultimately decide to enter (at least to the beginning of the aisle) with her heart-shaped glasses (foreshadowing complete)
Yep…very little during the ceremony. It would appear Rabbis and Vicars have more in common than they think
LIGHT…it does a body good

Arnon’s favourite part of the day

No OCF…just great light

He said he wanted a ‘Lord of the Manor’ shot. I wasn’t expecting Lord Flashheart (do your own Blackadder research)

Ribbit
Chrissy made all the table decorations and wrote a note to each guest

Arnon avoids a speech and opts for a song…

Recreating a scene from Shawshank Redemption? No, releasing a candle lantern
The video man (Steve…top bloke) and video light. Ta very much!
Make that Ta to the power of 2
Unfortunately we couldn’t do the latern launch about an hour earlier (the one of the B&G was a special one done…well…about an hour earlier) to get more blue in the sky…but it was still pretty cool.

This image CANNOT be explained
In the words of Simba “oh I just can’t wait to be King”
