Surrey Wedding Photographer – Nicky and Steve
Posted by: | CommentsA few weeks off and one never knows what might happen. A gentle ease back into the wedding photographer world would have been welcome. However, the weather had other ideas. Torrential downpours, alarming gusts of wind and even a bit of hail did little to make the transition easy. But I’m pleased to say the elements did little to dampen (get it) the results and in many ways helped contribute to some great opportunities. With a house in Epsom, a church in Guildford and a venue in Leatherhead we were certain to get soaked. Somehow, though, the rain gods seemed to take pity on us and every time we ventured out we stayed dry. Sadly the same wasn’t tue for all the guests. Some braved monsoon-like conditions to get from the car park to the church. Troopers…the lot!
It was my first time at St Saviour’s in Guildford. A wonderful building just inside Guildford town centre. Keeping up with the firsts it was also my first time at Cherkley Court near Leatherhead. As a wedding photographer you dream of certain venues. Light, space, period features…this place has the lot. I can’t tell you how much I would love to go back.
So..enough banging on. Time to get on with Nicky and Steve at Cherkley Court, St Saviour’s and Surrey.

Surrey Wedding Photographer – Nicky and Steve – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsRemember yesterday? Yes, the day of rain, wind and hail with biblical proportions? Broken umbrellas and soggy feet? OK. We’ve established that….so how did we get this? Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

Cherkley Court – Engagement Photography – Nicola and Steve
Posted by: | CommentsOK…strictly speaking this ISN’T engagement photography. A proper engagement shoot would be about 1.5 to 2 hours…so 12 minutes hardly constitutes an engagement session. But 12 minutes is what we had and 12 minutes is what we did. It was kind of cool to see what we could get in a limited time span…especially considering they had only just met me for the first time. Normally, on a wedding day, both bride and groom are used to be photographed either through preparations or the ceremony or etc etc. So to turn up, how you doing and shoot is pretty daunting.
BTW, this was shot at a new venue (well, 3 years old) called Cherkley Court. Sorry, the building isn’t 3 years old…its really old, but its in its third season as a wedding and events venues. Pretty sweet!
The sun was at it worst…directly overhead…but I got some stuff I was pleased with.

Couldn’t decide which one I liked best…so here are two. Amazed at how much brighter the reflection is compared to the actual subjects

What was funny about this room is that its just a passage way. The coordinator thought I was made to use it…but there was a viewing going on in the rest of the house. So Lin…whatcha reckon?
