Knees bent, arms stretched, rah, rah, rah. Oh yes, it time for the Okie Cokey. You are reading that right…they call him Cokey. In fact, my vain attempts at calling him Matthew meant I never even got a response. He’s not being rude…he just doesn’t really go by that name. In case you’re wondering (and if you’re not you either know him or you live in an alternative universe) the name stems from a sister who, for whatever reason, couldn’t get his name right as a child. Many years later the name sticks…and strangely, after you call him Cokey once or twice it stops feeling as if you’re up to something you shouldn’t.
It was back to The Barn at Bury Court again for the wedding on Sonia and Cokey (aka Matthew). The weather was decisively different than the last time I paid a visit to Bury Court. For that, it made things just that bit easier. Working at The Barn is just fantastic. Its a venue with so many opportunities. I think the barn and what I do go together perfectly. I’m a little biased.
Sonia looked stunning in her dress…seriously. It was simple and elegant all at the same time. You wore it well!
As for the day itself it was fantastic. A classic blend of tradition, some great ideas (like everyone’s name place being done in Scrabble letters – see the Facebook gallery) and a cake of cheese. Don’t forget, after these images there will be a link to a Facebook gallery for more images.
For the record:
Venue : The Barn at Bury Court
The Flowers : Tiger Rose Floral Design
The Catering : Jacaranda Catering

Wait for it…… there it is!
Dear Mum…this is what I didn’t want the light on in the hall!
Kind of like Flashdance for shoes
This is where it all begins!
As Foreigner would say – double vision
You may need to spend an extra second on this to see what I loved about this image.
its a car, its a house, its a bride

Ok…

Spot on :)

You put your left leg in…

She loves brick…apparently
..and flowers
Here is a first for me. 120 guests but only 2 tables. Bury Court as I’ve never seen it before!
Super duper!

Le Grande Entrance

Cheers

A little drinking game called ‘Around the World’ — the two tables competed with each other. It all got very competitive.

DOPPLEGANGER X 2 – Colin Farrell and Charlie from Lost

They clearly left that 9 to 5 up on the shelf

Yes…they call him Cokey. Here’s a quick Fab 4 from today’s wedding at the Barn at Bury Court. I’m very sorry Cokey that my little beady eyes seemed to miss an image with you in. How can I not love the UK’s wildest accountant! I will make amends on Thursday!

Round the world in 120 drinks!

Day of two of my ultra fast blog entries. Still battling through the backlog so excuse my lack of verbage. Suffice to say that ‘its all good’ on this one. Hard to beat a military wedding. The uniforms (one for the ladies), the swords (one for the men), the fact that your local pothole hasn’t been fixed because the groom crashed a helicopter to the tune of £1 million quid. Hey, but what’s a helicopter between friends.
Starting in Oxshott I found myself in Grayshott. Despite the ‘shotts’ they are quite a distance from each other. Not that this matters. What I was mentioning Grayshott for was that 15 years ago I live within a stone’s throw of the church that Naomi and Gary were married. It was like a wee homecoming. Darren got to go to the pub though :(
As is standard, you’ll find a link to more images and a way to get 20% off reprints AFTER these lovely images. Go on!
I’m making a habit of that dress angle
Naomi’s sister…herself a Bride to Be in just a few weeks time

Gray is the colour

Inside St Luke’s, Grayshott

Sisters? Hah!

Emma Lappin did an amazing job with the flowers (as always)

The band…Supercharger!

And a Few From Darren

It was a bad time to learn the groom played a practical joke involving hair gel and superglue

Now is the time to want to see more. So do that by going to my Facebook Business Page and the gallery for Naomi and Gary’s Surrey Wedding Photography. Feel free to tag yourself. Facebook says you have to ‘Like’ my page first. Damn them :)
Second, if you want to be notified when the entire gallery goes live and get a 20% discount code, email me!
FWIW, this wedding was full of amazing suppliers!
The flowers were by the uber talented and amazingly beautiful Emma Lappin
The catering was by one of the finest in the land. The lovely folks at Jacaranda Catering.
The band was awesome and they were the electric Supercharger

London, Paris, Milan. Oxshott, Grayshott, Haslemere. No difference really.
Here’s a quick Fab 4 from yesterday’s Surrey wedding of Naomi and Gary. I don’t really have any time to say anything with a meeting imminent. I will say that for 9 hours…they just flew by!

Perhaps that’s going over the top a bit. We certainly had our fair share of weather. From blistering sunshine, to a delicate sprinkle, to the mother of all rain storms. Toss in a bit of thunder and you’ve got a wonderful June day at The Barn at Bury Court. Although I was there to cover the preparations I saw only a short segment of it as all the girls had the requisite hair etc done at Sam’s parent’s house. So I arrived to an empty Barn (well…not the Barn but the flat). Eventually my loneliness was replaced by a dozen people doing more than a dozen things only for the heavens to open and a deluge of water fell from the sky. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Sam was a Bridesmaid for Louisa a few years back. I probably should have warned Darren of this fact if only to prevent that awkward moment when Ben (Louisa’s other half) says hello only for Darren to do his best deer in the headlights. It was pretty early on in Darren’s exploits with me. I think he finally got there…especially when Louisa joined Ben. How rude of me…
Mark had one of the best lines ever in a speech. On speaking of how they met he said “we met at work. I play with computers and she lies for a living.” (or something like that) Of course I’m now trying to figure out if she’s a solicitor or a marketer. What’s the difference? (Uh oh…Ben is gunning for me now)
It was great to be back at Bury Court. It seemed like a long time since I was last there. I was quite shocked to realise that I’m there 7 times this year. Goodness. That will be the most I’ve done in a year. Bring it on. Its a fabulous venue with so much to offer both the couple and me. Saturday was no exception. The weather played havoc a bit but it was a good chance for the Bury Court dream team to reunite (I am biased I reckon). That team being Jacaranda for the finest in wedding and event catering, Tiger Rose Floral Design for the most distinctive and unique floral creations, The Barn at Bury Court with a deliciously lovely, grand, quaint and personal wedding venue and me, Shootinghip, contemporary, progressive and unique first person wedding photography.
Stay tuned because after the images there is a link to see more and an opportunity to get a 20% discount on reprints.

eye yeye
And then? (very obscure that one)
Tiger Rose you floral genius!
All we needed was a pull cord and a bucket of water
4 guys get lost in a church
Symbolism

Like James Brown in The Blues Brothers, I think Mark ‘saw the light’
I love the randomness of this…signing, pondering, kissing

Yeah…well…F U too mate!
Bury Court — dressed to thrill

Suddenly the prospect of counting to MORE than 10 became a heck of a lot easier
DOPPLEGANGERS! On the left, Duncan from Blue….on the right Plan B
Bury Court brings out the romantic in men…
…and you doubted me

She was stroking hers, I was stroking mine…

I love a good veil
100 guests, 1 sensational venue, 4 musicians and a purple bag
I can only say that I wish I would have thought of this…but you can guess I’m doing next time I’m out with mates!

Uncle Ben!

Peace

My Just One (which was two) had a dance and a selfie going on in the background. Apparently Sam gave her Bridesmaid so stick for it…I wonder if she’ll give the Bridesmaid’s partner stick for yawning? Nah…doubt she’ll even notice,
Don’t let a first dance get between a bride and her coven

Hopefully you are keen to see some more…and if you are you won’t be disappointed with my Facebook Business page of Bury Court Barn wedding photos. You can tag yourself, but you will have to ‘like’ my page first. Facebook and its funky rules. However you won’t get any funny spots, pox or other hideous skin issues by doing so…go on then!
Also, if you are interested in seeing more of Sam and Mark’s Bury Court Barn wedding and would be interested in a 20% discount on reprints, please get in touch.

Just One My Arse! (think Royale Family)
Of course, how unfair that the B&G only appear in one and are out of focus at that. Sam and Mark know its nothing personal. She could have had the chair straddle but perhaps we shouldn’t talk about that before the watershed! So, in true Just One (its all a lie) style. Here you go!
Rivaled for my job!
There’s never a bad time for a selfie!
