Ruth and Rick – More From Nutfield Priory
Posted by: | CommentsAs promised in my Just One, more from Ruth and Rick’s winter wedding at Nutfield Priory. A wedding full of Doctors, Lawyers, Biochemists and Physicists…and that’s just the Bride and Groom. A relatively warm afternoon in the hills of Surrey at a fabulous venue. Having worked at Nutfield a few times I knew what to expect. But then Ruth and Rick did like to throw a curve ball in. Something a little different for me. There would be no cake cutting shot…no first dance either. But there would be….A QUIZ. Family and friends sharpened their skills in all things Ruth and Rick (or Richard as the Registrar called him). Questions related to him : “what medieval instrument could he bore you to tears with”. Questions related to her : “what substance did she have too much of a child that turned her poo purple”. Questions related to them : “where did he propose”. I didn’t fare to well, but then I wasn’t really playing. Besides all the talk of purple poo did me right in.
Hey…just like always you’ll be able to see a few more images on my Facebook business page. But first, have a gander below, take it all in and at the end you’ll find a link to more.
The gorgeous Nutfield Priory
Rubber shoes lead to idle minds
Independence Day
Two shoes…no its not X Factor. She had two different pairs of shoes

It was nice to get down to see the boys

Why he had both is beyond me
Ruth’s Dad…a fabulous character and a great chat

Nikon said, let their be cls light

Wee-tails

The winners of the extra special seats could hardly contain themselves

I suppose I should be surprised to see autumn leaves at the end of November…just like I was yesterday when attacked by two bumblebees
No doubt I’ll make the Daily Mail with “photographer cuts Bride’s head off” – then I can get jiggy with the Levinson enquiry

Thanks to my reflector holder for this one

Ruth and Rick – Nutfield Priory – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsBeen a while since I did a Just One. But today is a new day. So from Ruth and Rick’s wedding yesterday at Nutfield Priory…here you go.
Do they know its Christmas?
Jenny and Nick — Wedding Photography in Surrey
Posted by: | CommentsDeja vu! Transport yourself back to 2005 (April if memory serves). I make my way up three flights of stairs to a room in a B&B in Portsmouth. I knock on the door and within a moment it opens. There stood in front of me are a gaggle (yes, its the actual way to describe them) of bridemaids. Another moment passes and they all start to squeal. The arrival of the photographer is just one more tick in the box to completing the marriage of Becky and Matt…It was there I first met the Croydon High girls, something that’s not easily erased from ones memory. Becky and Matt have been great advocates of my business (for which I’m eternally grateful). Last year I saw them twice in one weekend. So, last August I worked with Nicola and Tom and this past Saturday it was Jenny and Nick. During a shot of the ‘school friends’ I was able to call many by name…something that prompted more than a few comments from the crowd. But hey, once you’ve been taken by the circle of Croydon High trust you’re in. I’m hoping to see more in the future.
This was my second visit to Nutfield Priory, the first being a number of years ago. Nic and I have stayed as guests and loved it (hey, who wouldn’t). Anyway, enough ramblings and on to the photos:

I nearly forgot to post this…how could I have done that?

Just dipping my toes in at first

I then went down to get this shot….

…and then found this. (Says nothing and quietly moves on…)

Recipe: 3 bridemaids, 1 shot of MTV Base and a glass of Champagne

A beloved pet…aged 17 years apparently. It was a weekend for pets on the blog

Cue much squealing!

Time’s a tickin

This is not a shot of a Groom drinking from a flask…no really

This is from the ‘Just One’ collection

Love, love me (I) do

Rev FOB

Meanwhile, back at the Priory

Nick’s brother Matt…(say in an Aussie accent)..he’s a decent kind of bloke

The wait staff at The Cloisters were a little over dressed

Saucey

Wanted….dead or alive

Google Receiving Line View

She kept telling him ‘picture, picture’ in an effort to get him to move out of the way…he didn’t quite get it.

A meeting of the Full Head of Hair society

The Croydon High girls

Romeo, Romeo…where for art…wait a minute…I don’t think this is the right way round

Believe it or not…this is a respectable member of the armed services

I’ve shot 3 out of 4…not bad

No other reason to post this (ok, apart from the fact they are swell folks who I see at all the Croydon High weddings) except that its lit, in total darkness, by Ikea candles

Sunshire…moonlight…good times….

Just One – Jenny and Nick – Nutfield Priory, Surrey
Posted by: | CommentsNick and the groomsmen chew the proverbial outside the church as Jenny makes her way through the traffic. Thanks goes to the Best Man who happened to tip his hat and took an ordinary shot and made it relevant.
