Wedding Photography at Loseley House – Vicky and Wellington
Posted by: | CommentsBut you can call him Welly. Honestly. I have the place name to prove it.
On Saturday I ventured to Guildford for the last wedding of 2010. Its one I had been looking forward to shooting ever since Vicky and Welly booked me back at the Loseley House open day in February. I had been to Loseley once before, back in the summer of 2009. I was keen to see how a December wedding played out. I wasn’t disappointed. A grand Christmas tree in the hall made for a warm holiday feeling. Baubles the size of oranges and guests all in black tie contributed to a special occasion. It was like the 10 hours of Christmas minus the 5 golden eggs.
Whilst Darren was following Pinky (sorry, I mean Welly) around Godalming (apparently stopping off at Costa — boys do such different things hours before a wedding) I was hold up in the top floor of the Mandalay Hotel in central Guildford. A great starting point for any Guildford area wedding. I had feared enormous traffic and hordes of Christmas shoppers but thankfully the car park was more than adequate and although a stones throw from town my fears were never realised.
Loseley House’s ceremony room is second to none. Not knowing much about English periods and architecture I can’t say what it is apart from being ‘well cool’ (ala Ali G). Afterwards we all moved to the Tithe Barn where the reception and wedding breakfast takes place. I know my barns. I felt right at home. Throw in some free flowing champagne and wonderful meal (venison sausages and mash), thoughtful speeches, an excellent band and a fabulous couple (with great guests too) and you’ve got a great night.

Let’s play dress up…
The dress ‘hung’ out (geddit?) in Vicky’s parents’ room. I love the look he gives his ‘little girl’ here
Welly…never one to let the wrong words mess up a perfect card

Just a sliver of light…bingo!

Holy giant baubles Batman
Ohhh…right in the baubles
With his flash set at 1/1000000th power
Someone call the traditional photo cops…I’ve been busted

She too couldn’t believe the size of the baubles
On learned that she too had forgotten to set the video for the X-Factor final

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies
Plums…baubles…its all getting out of hand!

Would make a great desktop wallpaper

Don’t adjust your sets. Yes it the biggest Minnesota Vikings fan in the UK strutting his stuff

Band-eoke
Some took the Band-eoke a bit seriously
Now…two from Darren
(can I just say, that including only two from Darren is damn near criminal. He did a cracking job…only that I’ve run out of time, I’ve got Evan’s Christmas pageant to go to etc etc etc…you did great Mr D!)

Darren….he’s seriously good!
Loseley House Wedding Photographer – Vicky and Wellington – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsSaturday closed the year known as 2010 out in glorious fashion. A lovely couple, great friends and a fantastic venue. What a way to finish the year.
More from Vicky and Wellington’s wedding tomorrow. But for now, enjoy a Just One.
“You tell him we’re cold…” “No…YOU tell him we’re cold” “NO…YOU!”
Surrey Wedding Photography – Sophie and Simon – Loseley House
Posted by: | CommentsThis was my first visit to Loseley House. A bit of a baptism by fire (or perhaps rain). Just as I arrived at the venue from the bridal prep the heavens opened and hail stones crashed down. For about 2 hours it was an interesting affair. Thankfully Sophie, Simon nor the guests let it hamper their day and before long the skies were blue and clouds puffy white. Its the kind of day that challenges a photographer most…going from pouring rain and darkness to blasting sunshine and contrasty shadows. Hope you like what you see.

It was nice to see the boys for a change

Had anyone made any sudden movements forward it could have been a doubled-over moment

There is something raw about this photo that I just love. I can’t really explain it…but it gets right into me.

Back with the girls … and for the record I love this too!

ahhh…my just one!

Dress’m up and all that

Shoes…its kind of like the smell of fresh bread on a Sunday morning or a warm fire on Christmas Eve. Or perhaps I just have a fetish and should really just get over it….

Hang 10

“I love you (wo)man!”

Rain…it does a body good

A quick prayer to the rain gods and the waiting begins

Fortunately most of the wedding venues I work in have a roof. One of the USPs I offer to all my clients at no extra charge.

Can’t always promise the comics on the wall tho’

Holding up her score it took some time to realise that she had it facing the wrong direction

Someone did it…own up!

Its OK that I’ve focuses on the rain a bit…because soon, its all going to be a distant memory

Meet Milo…Sophie and Simon’s ball of joy

Photographer posts photo and runs (quickly) to the next wedding

Yes…this is the same day. Suddenly it was umbrella for totally different reasons

Ohh Mr Darcy

Shortly afterwards he ripped off his FOB strip to reveal a message…oh..wait…this isn’t the FA cup final is it. Moving along…

Simon’s Dad was a quiet chap…but you could always tell what he was thinking

This is supposed to be a self portrait of Simon…sure..like…whatever

Wine + Guest = Happy Guest

All set up for my usual dance shots, no one told S&S that they needed to stand a little closer to the flashes than 45 feet. Doh!

Thankfully the video light saved my bacon

Awww…bless….
