Darren and I really enjoyed sharing part of the day with them and the kids were a blast. Hope you guys have a great time on Honeymoon. BTW — Holly’s 1st birthday is on Tuesday. Posted by: | CommentsWell Just One…sorta. Today was a unique day. Working not far from the house and for a short, 2.5 hour coverage. Its something you can opt to do in the bleak mid-winter…however, today wasn’t really bleak at all. The sun was shining, even if it was bum clinchingly cold. Today is also unique in the since we knocked off at 3pm, Darren and I came back to base and reviewed his files and mine. So today’s Just One is actually Just Two…one from me and one from Darren. More on the blog soon.

Hampshire Wedding Photography – Sarah and Levon
Posted by: | CommentsThe final wedding of 2009 took me to Stockbridge — a quaint Hampshire village a few miles outside of Winchester. I had met Sarah and Levon back in February at the wedding of Vanessa and Stuart in Lancashire. So another example of the referral network working its magic. When I last saw them my daughter, Holly, was only 6 days old. Amazing to think how much she’s grown since then.
Sarah and Levon went for something a bit different…a civil ceremony at The Grosvenor followed by a reception at The Greyhound. What makes it different is that the Greyhound is a warm village pub with only room for about 40 seated…so naturally its the best place for a wedding of 65. Just throw out the tables…and that’s exactly what they did. It was like a big family Christmas (and when I say big I mean my mom’s family big…that’s 10 brothers and sisters, partners, kids…the lot)…so it was eat where you can. It was a fantastic afternoon (and whilst I wasn’t there for much of the evening from what I could tell it was going to be a crazy evening as well).

Manor Barn Wedding Photographer – Gemma and Matt
Posted by: | CommentsIt all started about a year ago. I’m in the safe confines of pub when an email arrives. The specifics elude me but it goes something like this: “umm…I feel like a stalker because I was in town before Christmas and see this little boy and immediately I go ‘hey, that’s Evan and his mummy’…I feel like a stalker”. Yes, Gemma, you kind of are BUT in a really good way. So it goes that when your face hits the blog its always a possibility you too may be famous :)
The last time I made my way to Manor Barn it was warm, sunny and Christmas was a distant thought. On Saturday it was all about tinsel, trees and twinkling lights. Christmas weddings are always wonderful. Often prospective December clients get in touch in September and say “hey…how about a discount…its December and you’re not busy”. I love to say “well…actually…I booked your date a year ago and I’ve got more weddings in December than May but have a nice time anyway.” Quietly satisfying…
It was great to work with some old favourites. Obviously Manor Barn and the entertaining Jan and Tim. Dennys Catering did their usual magic with amazing food and hospitality (who knew pigeon could taste so good). Last but not least another ‘Liss-ite’ in Heavenly Scent flowers provided a splash of colour on a cold winters day. It was quite satisfying when I mentioned to Gemma about working with old friends that she tells me she used the list of suppliers on the site as the framework for her choices…sensible when you live in Amsterdam (make mine a Royale with Cheese). My list isn’t random…I’ve worked with everyone and totally endorse their work.

Mind you she found 1000s of things she didn’t want me to shoot…most of which I had no intention of…but its nice to see reality in these things…eh?
