Archive for Le Talbooth
I’ve put up a load of slideshows on the main website over the past week. Just thought some of you might be interested so here are a few links:
- Jessica and Jason (aka the horse wedding — and not, that’s not an insult) — Little Missenden, Buckinghamshire
- Catherine and James — Winchester and Lainston House, Hampshire
- Anne and Clyde — Tithe Barn, Hampshire
- Vicki and Ben — Le Talbooth, Essex
Hope you enjoy!
When they say “do you cover Essex” its a bit of trick question. Essex really isn’t that far…its just across the Dartford Crossing. Heck I prefer to go to that IKEA (not anymore since Southampton opened) than Croydon etc etc. But this was the depths of Essex. Let’s just call it Suffolk. What’s more bizarre is that I had been there before and couldn’t remember it. I worked with a friend on another wedding photographers wedding and stayed in the same hotel that the B&G got ready in. Not that I could remember such is the experience of visitng….Essex. I suspect the Essex photographers take the mick out of Hampshire weddings as well. Good on ya I say!
Anywho, many years ago in a land far far away (West Sussex to be precise) I shot the wedding of Hannah and Badger. Yes, that’s correct…Badger. Ok, his real name is Jeff/Geoff (who knows) but he’s always been called Badger. Furry river animals aside, it was H&B’s wedding that got me the call from Vicki and Ben for their wedding 4 years later. Nothing like a good referral especially when your old clients are there and they bring parents and brothers to boot. I loved seeing them…a set of friendly faces in the crowd (you know, in case I go too far with the Essex jokes). Anywho…enough rambling and on with the show:
If only I had seen this image before hand. SatNav took me about 3 miles in a round trip when the church was only a stone’s throw from the hotel
Normally I wouldn’t be fond of photos of prep where someone looks at me…but I like this one. A sort of calm and contented Vicki.
Variations on a theme
The boys put the final touches on the VW Camper Van
This has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the wedding…but I couldn’t help but share
Vicki never really wanted prep…but when you run behind by a hour you get what you get :)
Camera fodder…all day long!
The girls (bridesmaids and sisters) watch the boys toddle off in VDub
Wee Willy would be so proud
Why shoot it? Why not! How did I shoot it? Ancient Hampshire secret!
Vicki…with the extra grunge filter on 11!
Ben…he’s the short one…apparently.
I kinda got diddled at the church. Was allowed to sit at the front, behind the vicar in the choir pews. Sounded good at the time but in reality with not ideal. Thankfully Darren got the back view otherwise I would have bailed during the first hymn
Not a creative composition…just one that removed all the bits from the pews
Maybe it was the B&Gs idea…I don’t know…but any string quartet who plays Guns N Roses (Sweet Child o’ Mine) during the signing of the register deserves mega brownie points in my book. I wonder how much coke Axel Rose would need to take to get his mind off the fact it was played in Church?
Couple shots were all very … umm … relaxed
Noel Edmonds has ‘the banker’. The tooth fairy…well, she’s got Ben
Just a shot for these six ladies…do you remember why she raised her hand? Just curious…comments at the bottom please.
When you say “no kissing, no cuddling” etc…it really puts me off my mojo. You never said no shots from behind a greasy door though did you?
A piece of advice we should all remember
Highway to Hell(o)
Bertie! Hannah and Badger’s little’n — who I now refer to as Possum
hiya…how’ve ya Ben
A polite invitation to “get down with ya bad self”
