Tell more Toree, why whenever I type your name I want to type 2 Rs.  Just a thought.  Thanks to you both for having Darren and I to your most excellent Pembroke College, Cambridge wedding.  I can now tell folks I ‘went to Cambridge’.  Should I omit the ‘just for a day’ bit.  Reminds me of folks who say they went to Oxford (followed by a long pause) Brookes.  Tangents galore!

It was a military wedding without the guns…or the fancy dress for that matter.  I sometimes wonder why all military weddings don’t wear uniforms.  Then I reflect on how my wife used to go wild when I wore my Pizza Hut delivery outfit back at Uni.  Fair dos…the last thing you want are more women falling over themselves for you on your wedding day.

Speaking of falling over things on your wedding day…how about the things I fell for on your wedding day.  I loved that Tor(r)ee’s mum, knowing that she was getting ready in a holiday flat, felt compelled to bring along photos of the family from home to make it feel more personal.  I loved how one Bridesmaid flew in from Africa whilst another one was frantically trying to find flats in Boston (USA).  I loved that even though the venue weren’t keen on assembling the cake Toree’s Dad took a crash course in cake tier creation.  I LOVED the church.  I don’t think I’ve ever shot a wedding in a church where the light was better.  I think I remember you guys being concerned.  It was lush (says Nessa).  I loved being allowed to shoot in the church (refreshing) and the aweseome choir.  I loved the parents only receiving line.  Nice touch.  I was amazed to see, entirely through coincidence, a guest from a wedding I did two years ago and there was no single connection between the two (apart from him and I).  I loved the dining hall…amazing to photograph in.  I loved…well…everything.

I know you aren’t off until next week.  I’m working hard to ensure I have something for you before you go.  So I hope you enjoy this wee taster.

BTW…my wife didn’t really like my Pizza Hut delivery uniform.  Creative license.

You’re leavin…on a jet plane.  In fact you’re probably somewhere over the Middle East sippin’ Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain as I write this.  Hopefully your journey was safe, happy and filled with champagne.  I know that’s how most of my Mondays go.  Anywho, just wanted to wish you both the very best on your Honeymoon (do I have to capitalise that) and your future life together.  I (or shall I say we…because Darren was there…but I expect you knew that didn’t you Nat…after all etc etc etc) had a fabutastic day with you all.  From the Crazy Canucks to your camera shy cousin.  I loved how you guys went for the best of Tithe Barn (modestly I will add myself to the list that includes Jacaranda, The Topiary Company, Tiger Rose).  We’ve all worked together so many times there we’re all like a pair of comfy shoes.  I loved the cheese cake…and for once it wasn’t cheese fashioned into a cake but an actual cheesecake.  Yum yum.  I loved that you totally trusted both of us to do all the things we know how to do.  I loved your band, Funk Federation.  Good choice.  I loved being part of your prep, meeting your parents (especially you mum…growls like a lion) and seeing the gallery assorted outside their house waiting for you to leave.  I didn’t love the pressure of where to put your shoes — Brides today huh.  But I think I found something that will please you as well as you bathroom fitter.  I loved that you let us ‘adapt’ the ShootBooth to something altogether more cool.  In short we just loved being there.  How 10 1/2 hours passed so quickly is beyond me.  I look forward to hearing from soon.

Hey…what a day.  It flew by didn’t it!  I’m amazed sometimes just how fast a wedding day can go.  Especially the good ones.  Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for having me along.  It was a pleasure to be there.  Here are a few of the things that I loved.  Jean…I loved how she just wanted to take care of me.  Bless.  The windows upstairs.  How cheeky you all got to spy on the boys.  I wonder how you would have taken it if the tables were turned  (cue shrieking).  Speaking of the boys, it was great to go on a bit of walkies with them before the ceremony.  Great fun and they even behaved :)  I love the role reversal with your children (can I call them that given their age?) keeping you both in line, calm and getting you there in time.  Thanks for your trust…I appreciate that.  I loved that Mark’s eldest did a speech and even did THAT joke (more on that later).  I loved how they all seem to get on well…did you bribe them with iPhones?  I loved the fact that Mark met his Best Man when the Best Man’s son fell over and hurt himself as a wee lad and Mark was the doctor on call.  I loved your families…from Clooney to the Supermodel, the mad Oboeist to the Laughing (constantly) sister.  I know there were more.  I loved that Hen Night photo (my eyes, my eyes!).  To all the family, friends, guests and more important Nicola and Mark.  Thanks for making it ace!

Yep, its a Tithe Barn, Hampshire wedding which was briefly preceeded by a trip to Portsmouth for a wedding in the Cathedral.  There…that’s the Google rubbish out of the way.

No Mr Photographer…you can’t take any photos.  Its disruptive and takes away from the spirtual feeling of the wedding.  Of course we don’t mind if random folks walk in from off the street and watch or that you’ll get set upon by a crazy at the back saying ‘look, another two meet their doom’ (seriously) and finally the book shop…nope it won’t cause any problems either…tills are a great accent to ‘Love Divine’ — bit like in Pink Floyd’s ‘Money’.  Grrrrrr…

Helen from MadHen….the absolute, undisputed, top notch, first class band EVER!  Seriously.  However I do have to recommend to all future clients…DO NOT PUT YOUR BAND NEAR THE KITCHEN at TITHE BARN.  Why?  Because its right under the sound meter.  The band were not supposed to be there…they didn’t want to be there but being total class musicians they did what they had to do.  B&Gs have the power to change the minds of suppliers (not the band BTW, they fought their corner) who make bad decisions.

You’re only laughing because you know I have the Simon Cowell dance on camera :)

Aloha!  OK, so that’s not what they say in Barbados but I’m guessing as you are there and I’m here you’re probably ready to laugh that one off.  First off Krissie…would you believe its been cloudy all day today.  Its just not fair!  Regardless of those facts I hope your trip to sandy beaches has been a good one.  I wanted to tell you both ‘thanks’ for having both Darren and I along to your most fantastic wedding.  I wanted to recall some of things that stuck in my mind.  Krissie’s messy room.  Your words, not mine.  I couldn’t bring myself to post the picture but I’ve got it.  Dr Dresslove..aka the one in the rubber gloves.  Pure class when adding a bracelet…divine idea.  That choir…oh that choir.  Someone call Piers Morgan NOW!  The love bug…thankfully it was convertable otherwise who knows what you would have got up to.  Those lovely details…cookies of Cookie, love hearts (yes, I have a photo of Darren chowing down…I told you he couldn’t resist) and the flip flops.  I really hope it was a flip flop only affair on the dance floor.  Speaking of chowing down…thanks for the cupcake.  Phwoah…that was amazing.  Krissie as the melting Bride…for sure never to see the light of day on the website but a good laugh.  Ben…you never once asked a silly photo question.  You let me down.  :)  Finally to the Bear.  You’re not all that!  I’ve got so many photos of you and photos never lie…all I can see is a tender side.  Quiet…stoic…but never grizzly.  Perhaps I’m lucky to never see the Bear when he’s not in hibernation.  To family, friends and even George, thanks for having us.

This is all about what the Groom wears.  So listen up boys.  Your Bride will have spent ages deciding on a dress.  Every detail examined, cross examined, questioned, Bridesmaid checked, Mum verified.  You…well, you just pop into Moss Bros and get a bog standard with a matching cravat.  OK, there’s ACTUALLY nothing wrong with that.  It looks great and if you’re lucky there might even be some cuppage but be real…get a tailored suit.  A memory of a lifetime and something you can wear for a good time to come.

Matthew (as in Andrea and Matthew) did just that.  A fantastic tailor made wedding suit from Farnham and London Made to Measure Suit Maker Room Ten.  Matthew looked the business as did his Groomsmen because Room Ten also hire suits for the remainder of the wedding party.  How cool is that!  Think about it.  To find out more about Matthew’s suit and what he thought of the entire experience by visiting Room Ten’s Blog.

I’ve never been a travel photographer.  But here are a few things (more later in the week) that I captured.

The Wailing Wall (or Western Wall)

The structure bottom right is Jesus’ tomb where he was laid after being crucified.  I couldn’t understand this as I was always taught that he was placed in a tomb, a rock rolled in front.  This tomb was in the side of hill or rock face.  It was explained to me by the guide that Jerusalem has been destroyed several times and each time things were built on top of other things.  Hence the placement.
