Emma and Jordan – Gate Street and Hascombe Wedding
By rob_burressDespite already shooting 4 weddings this year its always those after the Easter holidays that sit in my mind at the turn of the year. Winter weddings are kind of an extension of the previous wedding. So this is…I guess the first Spring wedding of the year. Of course someone need to tell mother nature. My last wedding at the end of March was a very outdoor affair. Sunshine and blue skies dominated. Friday was…well…a bit different.
From sun, the dark clouds, to thunder and even hail (albeit, very brief). We had it all. But no amount of rain can get between Emma and her Lance Corporal. if Afghanistan couldn’t stop them, how could a bit of rain. Like everywhere on Friday the weather changed with the wind. So in reality, much of the day was dry and at time even sunny.
But what about the day. Well…talk about some stunning locations. First is St Peters in Hascombe. What looks like your typical village CofE church from the outside is quickly transforms into something not out of place in a cathedral in an old European city. Incredible it is. Then there’s Gate Street Barn. Tucked away only a few miles from Guildford, this country retreat with all the luxuries of transport and accommodation of a big town is simply sensational. A very well thought out venue, it uses multiple indoor spaces to cater for all types of weather. It truly is one of the South’s best wedding venues.
Of course I couldn’t miss the opportunity to thank Emma and Jordan’s parents. Wonderful people with fabulous children. It was so great to feel part of the event…not just recording it but actually a part of it. From the minute I arrived at Emma’s house to the last goodbye I knew I was amongst friends. Thanks for being so welcoming.
Finally…as with all wedding, you may want to see a few more. To do this I will post a link to my Facebook Business Page AFTER this post. So scroll, read, enjoy then find the link at the bottom!
You’d be mistaken for thinking you’re looking at a cathedral somewhere in Italy. In fact, its St Peters in Hascombe…Surrey!
Later, Gran would be attached to Emma’s flowers so she could be there in spirit
I can categorically say that there isn’t a lovely Jack Russell running around on the train just out of sight…honest
“and I recall we both kind of liked it … well, that’s one thing we got”
Three babes…me sitting on the loo. A typical day at the office
