Ruth and Rick – More From Nutfield Priory
Posted by: | CommentsAs promised in my Just One, more from Ruth and Rick’s winter wedding at Nutfield Priory. A wedding full of Doctors, Lawyers, Biochemists and Physicists…and that’s just the Bride and Groom. A relatively warm afternoon in the hills of Surrey at a fabulous venue. Having worked at Nutfield a few times I knew what to expect. But then Ruth and Rick did like to throw a curve ball in. Something a little different for me. There would be no cake cutting shot…no first dance either. But there would be….A QUIZ. Family and friends sharpened their skills in all things Ruth and Rick (or Richard as the Registrar called him). Questions related to him : “what medieval instrument could he bore you to tears with”. Questions related to her : “what substance did she have too much of a child that turned her poo purple”. Questions related to them : “where did he propose”. I didn’t fare to well, but then I wasn’t really playing. Besides all the talk of purple poo did me right in.
Hey…just like always you’ll be able to see a few more images on my Facebook business page. But first, have a gander below, take it all in and at the end you’ll find a link to more.

The winners of the extra special seats could hardly contain themselves

I suppose I should be surprised to see autumn leaves at the end of November…just like I was yesterday when attacked by two bumblebees
No doubt I’ll make the Daily Mail with “photographer cuts Bride’s head off” – then I can get jiggy with the Levinson enquiry

Thanks to my reflector holder for this one

Ruth and Rick – Nutfield Priory – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsBeen a while since I did a Just One. But today is a new day. So from Ruth and Rick’s wedding yesterday at Nutfield Priory…here you go.
Do they know its Christmas?
June and Felix at Avington Park
Posted by: | CommentsAnd now for something totally different. As a wedding photographer you start to get used to some constants that make up your wedding year. So when something comes along that changes that it adds an extra level of excitement. June and Felix provided that excitement. June, a retired head teacher and Felix, a copyrighter, met by chance over a decade ago when June hosted an open day for folks interested in changing into a career in teaching. Felix went from career change to smitten quite quickly and the rest is history. A small wedding, with close family and friends, at a superb location. It was great to work with the professional video team at Smokescreen Visuals as well.
There will also be a link to ‘just a few more’ images on Facebook as well. So have a look below and follow the link that appears after the last image.
No prep today…June “couldn’t see the point” — I’ll let it slide :)
Rosemary, June’s Bridesmaid, leaves early

John…the hired ‘Father of the Bride’

Bondesque

Ahem!

This angle was in no way stolen from Matt at Smokescreen

Living up to that Bond comment earlier

And a few from Darren

As promised…a handful more images on my Facebook Business page…feel free to tag yourselves.

Helen and Simon – Bonfire Night Wedding
Posted by: | CommentsHowever, no Guy’s were harmed in the making of these nuptials. Which reminds me of an interesting conversation I had with Evan this week. Evan of Year 2 and 6 years old
Me: “What did you learn about in school today?”
Evan: “About this man who had a lot of gunpowder and wanted to blow up the king”
Me: “Guy Fawkes?”
Evan: “No…it was…um…Guy…um…Guy…um…F….”
Me: “yes, Fawkes, Guy Fawkes”
Evan: “No…it was…um…Guy…um…Guy FOX!!!!”
Helen and Simon were married in the wonderful village church in Cliddesden near Basingstoke. Apparently Bonfire Night is a big deal in Helen’s family. Rather fitting then they would select the date and even throw in some fireworks for good measure. This is a taster with a more substantial posting coming at the beginning of next week (this is different to what I mentioned last night Helen…sorry, forgot about going away for my 16th wedding anniversary). Have a great honeymoon.
