Gloucestershire Wedding Photography – Lesley and Ian
ByToday is the first of at least 2 posts I’ll make for Lesley and Ian’s Newnham village wedding in Gloucestershire. What I loved most about the wedding was the community and family spirit that went into it. The church was chock full of guests with one of the largest contingent of children I had seen in a long time. I guess when you, as the Bride and Groom, already have 3 children its likely that vast majority of your friends will also have children. Open arms. The reception venue wasn’t big enough to cater for everyone so instead of heading on down to The Club they had a warm reception in the church of St Peter’s at the top of the hill. The vicar, fresh from her chocolate throwing antics was busy helping out with pouring champagne and getting things in order. With the cake that Ian’s mum made cut folks were tucking in with Ian’s mum doing copious amounts of slicing. Its so easy to feel part of the experience when you know that everyone is part of it. Even the turn around from the end of the speeches to the start of the band was a flurry of activity with family helping out in laying out a most wonderful array of items. I said to Lesley that she didnt really expect people to actually eat it. With a puzzled look thrown back at me I realised that perhaps that could be taken the wrong way….in fact I meant that no one would want to eat for fear of messing up such an amazingly detailed buffet. Such is Lesley’s eye and attention to detail. Below is the bulk of the blog post. All mine. So perhaps Thursday I may find a few of Darren’s to share as well as a spotlight on Lesley’s amazing insight into table design.
L&I’s oldest seeing Mummy’s dress for the first time
I love a good juxtaposition
eerie yet intimate – kind of like Paranormal Activity

Eye like symmetry
A tiny bit more foundation and a dollop of coriander leaf as well
She does moody quite well
just like the ‘awakening’ in Avatar…only a bit smaller and with gravity
Fire Exit sign…? What fire exit sign.
L&I’s oldest read an excerpt from Zen and the Art of War…or perhaps it was Winnie the Pooh
Rule 1. Never tick off a Vicar who has a) full tin of Roses and b) very accurate aim
For once its not Nikon green but stained glass :)
God wants a Porsche
Smooth Groominal
Babes-r-Us
Warm winter sun
You’ll never go to the Post Office with the same frame of reference ever again Ian

Apparently the inspiration for 50Cent’s masterpiece – Oh, and Darren…whatcha reckon?
Rules of Wedding Photography No. 433 – Stopping major A road traffic isn’t advisable…unless of course this is the result!
Sadly for Ian, the rain never came

Everytime I say the words ‘the band’ I think of the Blues Brothers

I always love the titles of each photo, you never stop making me laugh! Love the photos of the bridesmaid’s feet and the vicar throwing chocolates – sounds like fun ;)
Hi Rob,
I’ve been a regular visitor to your blog and website for about 6 months now. When I first viewed your work I wanted to weep with despair and gnash my teeth with envy. I managed to pull myself together, however, and decided to allow your work to inspire my artistic development rather than the baser human instincts. And it continues to do so. I’d like to pick your brains on a few technical matters in the near future but, for now, I urge you to keep up your inspirational work. Bring on the 2011 wedding season!
All the very best,
David
