Tithe Barn Wedding Photography – Sharyn and Mark
By RobA number of years ago, before the children, Nicola and I made the long trip to South Africa. A wonderful holiday of a lifetime (or as we call it back in the days of two jobs and no kids..a holiday). The wine was amazing, the food was plentiful and the people were warm and welcoming. I’ve been very lucky to be a part of a couple of South African weddings since and they are always a riot. South Africans are like Americans who understand EastEnders. Happy to let their hair down but not too uptight like my fellow countrymen (America that is). This was no exception. We were welcomed in a way that can only be described as ‘part of the gang’. The guests, the family and most importantly Sharyn and Mark. They were totally on board with the way I like to do things — which, in a nutshell is — let it roll and we’ll get what we see. That bit of faith and an almost Olympic level of ‘how to have fun’ means no matter what we did, who we followed or where we were they was too much to take in…in a good way. So thanks to everyone and I hope you enjoy this brief preview.

Dress for success
Them’s some damn fine curtains
waited patiently…but the towel never dropped
Sweet English rose — no really, look just outside the window. Its NOT her…she South African!
Disgraceful…disgusting…revolting. No..not the rescue remedy…that bedstead! Shocking!
Nice guns
Nope…still there!

Sharyn’s brother…he reminds me of someone….HELP!

She knew at this point that her meal would always be….Green Eggs and Ham
togetha 4 evah (its like a Sugar Babez song)
Seems perfectly reasonable to me…Tithe Barn welcomes Zulu Dancers
…and a not-so-Zulu dancer
Road Warriors
Damn you Fitzsimmons…see what I was on about!

Lego and Cake…a rather delightful coalition

One of the Ladds…in this case a rather important one

Someone really should take down those Christmas decorations :)

Smile…you’re on Not-So-Hidden Camera
Just like raisins, made in the California sunshine
I felt particularly taken advantage of when I realised someone was getting 2 for 1
my Just One…now is the time, in this dawn of political cooperation, for you to become a fan!
Recipe for keeping South Africans happy. 1) wine (or beer), 2) rugby — just don’t mention the England Cricket team’s Man of the Series!
Thanks goes to our good friends at Cine8 who provided a whopping great light up on the balcony. We got some fantastic stuff as a result. I want my own now!

Finally…the towel dropped! (different person though). I could show you the next picture…but that…well, that would make things rather difficult for a family orientated blog
And a few from Darren…the chap who helped me through a long (but rewarding) weekend
First…a message to Darren. Absolutely stunning work at the weekend. Honestly…I know I sound like a broken record. But you really are developing in ways that excite me (watch it) and some that…dare I say…tick me off — I mean, why didnt I think of that!
This…this just made me laugh. As if it were a hot river of lava.

This is one of my favourite shots of Darren’s — EVER!
More of that rugby jazz…
