Rhinefield House Wedding Photographer – Belen and Damon
Posted by: | CommentsSaturday brought me another day of intense sunshine. It was also kind enough to deliver another wonderful couple…this time in the form of Belen and Damon (that’s pronounced Blen…NOT Bell-in, like the Toastmaster insisted on calling her). They too took the approach of ‘do what you do best’ and I’m glad they did. I’ve worked in a lot of venues. Some are great but not so much for photography. Then there are the Rhinefield Houses of this world. A place that give me so much to play with and in a way the works right into my strengths. Some weeks I’m fighting the system…but this week I’m a cog in the system. Being a wedding photographer at Rhinefield House still, IMHO, requires a certain skill. There are lots of pitfalls if you don’t where to look…photographic pitfalls. But with all things these are there to be overcome, conquered and made wholly yours.
Belen and Damon came to me as a recommendation from Kerry and Steve back in 2007. It was great to see them at the wedding. They haven’t changed a bit even after adding a bonny boy to the mix. A big thanks to all of them…one of recommending me and other for taking up the recommendation.

And Now a Few From Darren
Bless Darren…he had mentioned he hadn’t felt great this week. I suspect the lure of a helicopter transfer aided in his Saturday morning recovery. At one point I lost him…just after the speeches. Not like Darren at all. But I carried on, getting my stuff set up for the Just One shot. He then appeared. He’d been worshiping to the porcelain gods, talking to ralph on the big white telephone…IOW, blowing chunks. But he picked himself up and finished the day with me. We did, however we did stop and leave a parcel somewhere in the New Forest. Sorry to the horses in advance.

Clandon Park Wedding Photographer – Liz and Lee
Posted by: | CommentsLife moves on. The volcano seems a distant memory (although I hear there are many people still stuck in places–ugh!) and now the sunshine has gone and hidden. You can all thank me as I had a barbecue yesterday. It was pretty much a guarantee that the weather would break just as the BBQ cover gets taken off. But before the weather changed and the cloud of invisible bits were floating above us there was the little matter of Liz and Lee’s Farnham and Clandon Park wedding to attend to. The first in a double weekend. They were able to deliver a few nice changes. First, a vicar who let me get on with what I needed to do. Second, a man in uniform..I too, even as a straight man, get wobbly when I see Richard Gere walk into the factory in dress whites. Last was the matter of speeches outside. Grand. Thanks for all those guys. It was great to get back Clandon Park. They’ve got some new uplighters and have removed the carpet from the cellar to reveal some wonderful stone work. As for Liz and Lee…I love them. Aww bless. Shame I couldn’t have stayed to see (alleged) dwarf hopping on the dance floor. But then dodgy things do happen in Tom Tit’s Stable (yes…that really is the name of the room where the evening entertainment takes place). One can only imagine the kind of traffic my site will get from Google with the keywords ‘dwarf’, ‘tits’ and ‘Richard Gere’.

Liz laughs. Lee responds…then notices someone givse him the “I’m watchin’ you” thing from Meet the Parents. Actually I don’t really know what was happening…but she did it in EVERY shot. So let’s make lemonade!

Rhinefield House Wedding Photographer – Belen and Damon – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsAnother glorious day of sunshine at one of Hampshire’s finest venues…apparently voted one of the top venues around a few months back. They call it the jewel of the New Forest. I simply call it Rhinefield House. It was a day of firsts…OK one first, and I didn’t even get to experience it. Damon arrived by helicopter and owing to my giving character I let Darren take the trip. Nothing to do with me being 30 minutes away or perhaps not being of the physique required to squeeze in with the others chaps. What a guy I am :)
Today’s Just One is a simple portrait. But I know that with Belen and Damon heading off on honeymoon it would be an image they would like to see. I can show them the great moments on the blog tomorrow.
Even erupting volcanoes etc etc etc (more on that irony tomorrow)
Wedding Photographer Farnham – Liz and Lee – Just One
Posted by: | CommentsSince my kids came along I really started appreciating the value of Grandparents. Not just because, in our case, they are so helpful…but also because of their unique relationship they have with Grandchildren. All of my Grandparents died before I ever really got to know them. So I feel blessed that the Evan and Holly have Nicola’s parents around…both of my parents, sadly, passed away before the children we born. Its because of this that and her unique smile and tender look that I fell in love with Liz’s Gran yesterday. The picture below doesn’t really need an explanation…it was just a special and funny moment when Liz asked Gran if she wanted some lipstick and Gran didn’t say no. It struck as I watched and photographed it that when Holly is the same age as Liz, Diddy (aka Holly and Evan’s Granny) would be the same age.

Inspiration to Weary Travellers
Posted by: | CommentsI know this whole Volcano thing is no laughing matter…I have a friend stuck across the pond…he’s had to give up two weddings and spend a fortune to get back and he hasn’t even stepped on the plane home yet. But if this message finds you weary and down I hope that the following remind of what you have to come home to will perk you up. A bit of Blighty…a wonderful place to be!
Home!!!
