Paint By Number Dreams
ByNothing much really…just had a few shots of the kids etc that I felt I should post up. I know my sister will be foaming at the mouth waiting for more recent shots of Evan and Holly. Hard to believe that she’s nearly 14 weeks old. People always ask us “getting any sleep at night?”. We used to say “yes” but lately we haven’t been so lucky. You might be jumping to conclusions and thinking its Holly that’s the problem. No chance, she sleeps straight through…7pm to 6:30am. Its Evan who has been the problem. A small bout of an ear infection followed by the realisation that pretend pain gets you just as much sympathy as real pain and you’ve got a week of getting up early etc. He knows we’re wise now and he’s started to play down ‘being poorly’. Kids….who’d have’m.
Regarding the title of today’s post. It was just that I was listening to my iPod the other day and Jackson Browne’s ‘The Pretender’ came on. I’m a sucker for well crafted lyrics (strangely I’ve never been a big fan of the easy rhyme). My favourite verse is:
I’m gonna find myself a girl, who can show me what laughter means
Then we’ll fill in the missing colours, of each other’s paint by number dreams
Is that not pure genuis. Simple words, powerful mental imagery.

“Help me!”

Evan gives ‘Uncle’ Paul the runaround

Holly contemplates far more than just Jackson Browne

“Damn you Daddy…one day I’ll have you for this!”
